About Me

My husband and I live in Chester Springs with our five children, ages 2.5 to 12 years old.

MotherBaby Birth ServicesI decided to become a doula after the birth of my second baby, and have been attending births - in between having my own babies - since August of 1999. I completed doula training with DONA International in 2001.

Having struggled through Postpartum Depression, I feel strongly about new mothers receiving adequate support after having a baby, and have been offering my services as a Postpartum Doula since 2004.

I started teaching Childbirth Classes at a local hospital in February 2004. I resigned in December of 2006, after my experience on the maternity floor as a CNA-in-training. I chose to leave my position there and teach privately, where I could share information without restriction and where my only obligation is to the parents who hire me. I completed the Childbirth Educator program through ICEA in 2006, and Bradley Method training in 2007. I am happy to share my knowledge, resources and support with women who are not willing to accept the standard American birth story as their own.

At this time, I am in my second year of midwifery school at Art of Midwifery in Media, PA. I am assisting homebirth midwife Kate Aseron, CPM of Rising Moon Birth Services, and am enjoying finding my own path to becoming a midwife.
